I share how I make an ayurvedic tea hair spritz. See my other ayurvedic videos. Go to my channel -- http://www.youtube.com/nappynfree -- and click on the "All Things Ayurvedic" playlist.

Ingredients in Spritz

Amla (promotes growth, stimulates hair roots, controls hair loss)
Brahmi (makes hair long, dark, dense & lustrous, strengthens hair roots)
Aloe vera juice (moisturizes hair)
Glycerin (humectant -- softens hair)
Castor oil (softens hair and seal in moisture)
Peppermint essential oil (stimulates hair follicles and may encourage growth)

* I always change up the oil. My favorite one to use is grape seed oil.
* Noveechops59 suggested using a perservative - vitamin e oil or tea tree essential oil. (I have vitamin e oil that I bought specifically for mixes that I always forget to use!)
* This spritz lasts about two weeks.

Spritz-Making Tips

* Make spritzes in small batches.
* Keep spritz in refrigerator
* Instead of just adding a bit of this and a lot of that, try to measure out ingredients. (It may help you create that perfect blend that you can duplicate.)
* Write down how you make your spritz.
* The oil and water will separate; make sure to shake spritz before spraying on hair.
* Some people uses many different oils in one batch -- be careful of the spritz becoming too oily.

  • Hello Again. I need Your advice. I wear mini/micro twists alot and I want to make this spritz to act as a cleansing, strengthening, ward off grey hairs leave in. What powders do You recommend to do this? TIA:-)

  • @ConnectedToMeNow

Hey! I don't think you can use the spritz to prevent grey hairs. I have been using the powders since 2009 and they haven't done anything for me. I would not put a cleansing powder (shikakia, aritha) in the spritz. They are drying to the hair and should be used along with a conditioner. I would recomment amla, bramhi, and maka to strengthen your hair. I have been only using one or two powders in my spritz - so play around with combinations! I hope this helps!

One more thing - I have two videos (go to my channel and click on the All Things Ayurvedic playlist) that shows how you can make a cleansing tea to shampoo your hair. It is not mentioned in the vids, bu tmake sure to follow up the tea with a conditioner.

I lilke store bought spritzes, but I like making my own, too. One great benefit to making your own is that it can be cheaper and you feel special whipping up your own personal creations! :-)

I am very happy that my vids may help! :-)

  • @NappyNFree i hope i will have time to film, but i am mostly going to be copying you actually! i will do hair masks (adding conditioner to them) and want to make a spritz like the one you made here, i have 2 ayurvedic spritzs at the moment (hairveda hydrasilica and bee mine juicy spritz), when i run out, i will make my own.

  • @PerfectBeginnings

    Heeeeey! Thank you!
