What kind of "atheistic state" can there be? If society is democratic, it will be secular society where both freedom of religion and freedom of not having religion will be respected. If there will be such a thing called "atheistic state", then freedom of religion won't be recognized. Flip side existed however where a nation was Christian and we all know the history. They have committed the worst murders than this so called "communist" state. In fact, they did it "in the name of God".

@orangeweldingholland When Mehmet Ali Ağca tried to kill John Paul II and went to jail for it the pope came to visit him and even befriended him, and I'm fairly sure they talked about God too and I'm also fairly sure the pope didn't say to him "Yeah, see you're a murderer (imo worse than a robber and yes even worse than a porn actress) so I'm not going to listen to anything you have to say about God, cheerio!" I'm not a fan of the concept of a pope but that was inspiring.

@orangeweldingholland and also, the question was: why should you be allowed to judge the qualifications of others to talk about religion? Are you without flaw? Either take the debate or leave it but just saying "I don't have to listen to you" is basically giving up.
-
@orangeweldingholland yup, porn actors = robbers, a mighty fine example you whipped up there.

friend, rationality is one thing, morality is another thing,
if purely in sense of rationality, robbers has their rationalities too!!!
will you listen to a robber to talk about his righteousness after he has robbed you?
if yes, i think you should help him proclaming his righteous deeds for robing you

@calebsherman1 "Religion has been our motivation for life"... who is "us" and how did you come to know these folks? "(his if your an ignorant chirstian)" since the jews who first thought of him probably pictured a male character it's ok to say "his", but seeing how God gets re-invented all the time (from judaism to islam, and in western culture he's pretty much Santa Claus by now) ya can probably call him what you want and decorate a personal shrine for him with pink ribbons
-
@orangeweldingholland Because, as people like you teached us, God it pretty picky about who he loves and who not. And what qualifications are needed to talk about religion? Since you obviously bring those to the table? May I hand you the literal "first stone" as your winning prize right now?

@mzipperlen And how is that funny my friend? Is that because you believe we aren't? And i may be late in this entire conversation, but there is no way these god folk can still believe if they were thinking LOGICALLY or even empirically. This idea of god, and it's (his if your an ignorant chirstian) entitlements creates more hate and burden than anything else. Religion has been our motivation for life; existing only to explain what science has not. Sad that rationality will never see the light.
