Free Maurice Didham - The New Zealand Police are Professional Liars

Maurice Didham, a 72 year old pensioner from Dunedin, New Zealand was busted for cultivating some small cannabis seedlings under a single 250W light in his bathroom. He maintains the cannabis was mostly for his own use for pain management, plus for sale to a few friends for a bit of extra pocket money since the pension is not enough to survive. The New Zealand Police have extrapolated the potential yield of those plants to be 50 pounds of cannabis with an estimated street value of $240,000, very much at odds with the yield of 600 grams worth $4,000 that Maurice described. Because of the seriousness of the Police allegations Maurice is being tried in the High Court and faces a likely sentence of many years in prison. A massive protest is planned in solidarity with Maurice on the day of his sentencing, June 8th 2011, outside the High Court at Dunedin.

A report shows red wine naturally contains the Class B drug GHB. Basically, red wine is illegal in NZ at the moment, notwithstanding it also contains a Class B equivalent drug in alcohol. I haven't seen a reduction in red wine sales, let alone any measure to punish those breaking the law for using, dealing and manufacturing.

I assume this means that if people's value system is not consistent with the law, they don't obey it. "Do the crime, do the time' is essentially meaningless.

BLoody hell! They do this all the time in Canada. When they find some Cannabis growing outside, they exorbitantly estimate what it's value WOULD be months later, and try to charge you with that offence. You are correct in fighting this. THIS DRUG WAR HAS GOT TO STOP! It is all based on a lie, when the holistic plant has such impressive medicinal value for so many ailments. Harvard study proved that it shrinks brain cancer while leaving healthy brain intact.
