@xzaxx You can be conscious. It depends on how long that force is exerted on your body. Fighter Pilots can sustain 9G for 30 secs. without any loss of vision. So 14G for 2-3 sec. should be no problem.

Egress

@davidpolensky Are you egress or afe?

@xzaxx the parachute (recovery chute) is fired 1 of two 2 methods. If all goes well the primary mortar cartridge will for the recovery chute assembly away from the seat and it will auto deploy.. if that doesn't work then the pilot pulls the emergency manual restraint handle which will in turn fire the EPS (Emergency Power Supply) which fires the secondary mortar cart, sending the chute assembly away from the seat auto deploying it into the airstream.

@davidpolensky 14 Gs is alot. i dont think anyone can be conscious during ejection. so who opens the parashute? the pilot its self or the seat will open the parashute after ejection?

LOL yes canopy I drink a lot on youtube excuse me.

@xzaxx The ACES II seat launches the pilot at about 14 G's.. The Aces II system uses a single rocket catapult to fling the pilot out of the cockpit and then it uses a STAPAC (Pitch controlled stabilization Assembly) to help keep the pilot upright and if it's a two seat they will have a trajectory divergence rocket (TDR) that will separate the two seats horizontally so the do not collide. All three explosive items are a 1.3 explosive class.
