Honda innovation: the omni-directional driving wheel for the UX-3

The 'HOT Drive' system can go forwards, sideways and diagonally. Lots of small, motor-controlled wheels are connected in-line to form one large-diameter wheel. By moving the large-diameter wheel, the device moves forwards and backwards, and by moving small-diameter wheels, the wheel moves side-to-side. Combining these movements means the wheel moves diagonally too.
