HMAS Sydney is an "Adelaide Class" guided missile frigate of the Royal Australian Navy. On her very first appearance, in support of Maritime Community Day, here she is departing Port Kembla Harbour in New South Wales, Australia, on the morning of September 6, 2010. Launched in 1980 and commissioned in 1983, you can read all about her illustrious career and those of her predecessors at: http://www.navy.gov.au/HMAS_Sydney
