The Raindrops - THE KIND OF BOY YOU CAN'T FORGET #17 in 1963. Jubilee Records. Songwriting team of Ellie Greenwich [born October 23, 1940]and husband Jeff Barry [born April 3, 1938]. Barry wrote "Tell Laura I Love Her"; the team wrote "Be My Baby", "Da Doo Ron Ron", "Chapel Of Love", "River Deep-Mountain High", "Leader Of The Pack", "Hanky Panky", and many more. Barry produced the mega-hits "Sugar, Sugar" by the Archies; and "I'm a Believer" by the Monkees. Ellie also recorded as "The Butterflys".

Lyrics:
I remember when I first saw him
Something told me that I couldn't ignore him
And I've been dreamin' of him every night ever since we met
'Cause he's the kind of boy you can't forget.

I remember when I first kissed him
He touched my hand and then I couldn't resist him
And though he kissed me 'bout a week ago, I ain't got over it yet
'Cause he's the kind of boy you can't forget.

Wo wo wo wo wo, wo wo wo wo wo
I could be so happy knowing he was mine all the time
And I could make him happy, I would treat him good, yes I would, wo wo
Wo wo wo wo wo, wo wo wo wo wo

Gotta tell him that I adore him
There is nothin' that I wouldn't do for him
I won't be happy 'til I make him mine and a wedding day is set
'Cause he's the kind of boy you can't forget.

  • I just added the lyrics to the video description - enjoy !

  • Yes, the Raindrops included Ellie and Jeff Barry, but who is/was the third member?

The photos show a second female, but her name doesn't surface.

  • @movingon4ever According to Wikipedia, the group gave the illusion that they were a trio by having Laura Greenwich [Ellie's sister] appear as a non-singing member. Ellie evidently performed the double track harmony.

  • I've been looking for this song for awhile. I found it! Thanks.

  • Ellie was all the vocies of the Raindrops except for Barry.

  • ICONIC SONG

  • Being born in '57, had I had only vague memories of early '60's rock. I eventually got to hear this once we got an oldies radio station in the '70's. A great song that hooks the listener instantly. I love the false ending, followed by that KILLER drum solo!!! A smash classic! Thanks for posting.

  • Amen i was 10 but loved listening at night to this great stuff on my transister and walking home from school digging all these songs that stand the test of time!

  • WHAT A TOUGH SONG THIS WAS BACK IN THE DAY!!!!

  • @sigridvanosch LYRICS (continued) 'Cause he's the kind of boy you can't forget. (He's the kind of boy you can't forget). I could be so happy knowing he was mine (yeah yeah yeah) all the time. And I could make him happy, I would treat him good, yes I would. Gotta tell him that I adore him. There is nothin' that I wouldn't do for him. I won't be happy till I make him mine and a wedding day is set. 'Cause he's the kind of boy you can't forget. (He's the kind of boy you can't forget).

  • @sigridvanosch Other than the nonsense hook, here are the lyrics: "I remember when I first saw him. Something told me that I couldn't ignore him. And I've been dreamin' of him every night ever since we met

'Cause he's the kind of boy you can't forget. (He's the kind of boy you can't forget). I remember when I first kissed him. He touched my hand and then I couldn't resist him. And though he kissed me 'bout a week ago, I ain't got over it yet. (MORE)

  • Where can I find the lyrics from this song? Or do I really have to listen and write...?
