i don't have to defend motown. what motown achieved thru ross' success was absolutely without precedent or parallel and the legacy continues to this day worldwide. fortunately, the legacy of motown does not rest on who has negative feelings or who has bad things to say about motown. it rests on the music and the music is forever. imo, ross has never truly received the respect she is due for the success of not only the supremes but of motown as well. why? one word: jealousy.

FOR THOSE OF YOU who remember this reunion special, you will notice that, while these three ladies are on stage, NOT ONCE are they mentioned as "Diana Ross and the Supremes

It's Johnny Bristol. The story is, that Diana was too tired for the session and Johnny was calling out these parts to get her into it and keep her energy up. Then, in the end they liked his part so much, they kept it. So, interesting story.

Does anybody Know if that was Florence Ballard they showed on the 1970 farewell clip? Because she was released from the group in 1967.

No, it was Cindy. Sadly Flo never appeared with the group again after her dismissal.

I Love The Supremes but The Supremes are over. Mary Wilson is the only Supreme, who doesn't see the group as a stepping stone but rather, she see's it as a dream come true because she and her friends worked hard. Sure Mary has made her mistakes, but the bible clearly says if we fail to admit we have done wrong, than we delude ourselves. How many of you all can write a book and write about some of the darkest times in your life? Very few. Mary, I Love you. God bless!

Very well said heartandsoul22!
We should be celebrating these women, not bashing them.
Thank you for your well thought out comment.
