A boy aged 11 has been charged with the murder of his fathers pregnant girlfriend in Pennsylvania.

Jordan Brown is alleged to have shot Kenzie Marie Houk, 26, in the head as she lay in bed on Friday morning, before putting his model 20-gauge shotgun back in his room and catching his school bus.

Police said that they found Ms Houk's body in the rented farmhouse in Wampum, northwest of Pittsburgh, after her four-year-old daughter told tree cutters on the property that she thought her mother was dead. Jordan was collected from school by state police on Friday.

When questioned, he told them that there was a black truck on the property that morning, sending investigators to follow a false lead for around five hours, said John Bongivengo, the Lawrence County district attorney. Inconsistencies in Jordans account led police to re-interview Ms Houks seven-year-old daughter, who said that she saw Jordan with what she thought was a shotgun and heard a loud bang.

Jordan was charged as an adult with criminal homicide and criminal homicide of an unborn child on Saturday, and was held in the Lawrence County Jail with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Thursday.

Ms Houks family and friends said that there had been difficulties with Jordan. He actually told my son that he wanted to do that to her, said Ms Houks brother-in-law, Jason Kraner. There was an issue with jealousy. Ms Houk's father, Jack Houk, said that there had been some tension, in the beginning" but said that his daughter had been working hard to forge a relationship with Jordan.

Police said that they had no clear motive for the shooting. Dennis Elisco, his defence attorney, said that he is waiting to see physical evidence that ties his young client to the killing. I dont think he knows whats going on, he said. I walked out of there thinking he was innocent. I believe Jordan did not do this.

The incident comes after the case of a nine-year-old boy in Arizona who on Thursday pleaded guilty to negligent homicide after the fatal shootings of his father and father's roommate, and highlights increasing concerns about the access children have to guns.

The shotgun Jordan is alleged to have used was designed for children and has a shorter arm, Mr Bongivengo said. Such weapons do not have to be registered. Jack Houk said that Jordan and his father used to practise shooting behind their farmhouse and the two enjoyed going hunting together.

The boys father, Christopher Brown, is a mess and had no indication his son had a problem with Houk", Mr Elisco said. Hes in a state of actual shock and disbelief.

Mr Elisco said that he plans to ask for the boy to be released on bail and for the case to be moved to a juvenile court.

  • I just found this story yesterday. Has anyone looked at the facts on this case? You can read the actual court documents on: free jordan brown dot com. After reading the facts, I'm not convinced that Jordan committed this crime. There are 2 PFA (Protection from Abuse) orders against an ex-boyfriend. In both PFA's, Kenzi says he threatened to hire someone to hurt her. I'm not saying this guy is guilty, just saying that more investigating needs to be done before this kid is locked up.

  • @J10ery he would go hunting with his dad, he obviously knows what killing and dying is. i can remember being 8 years old and knowing good from evil. that child deserves to be punished bad or he'll grow up to thinking he can get away with murder yet again. im not saying hes guilty but if he did do it he deserves a good punishment. just my theory

  • He didnt do it. jordan went to my school and is my grade. people just dont know most of the story. his sisters said he didnt do it and ment it, then they went to their moms

(lady killed) parents house and then their entire story changed.

  • I think your on the right track if he lies at the begin thin it would be hard to believe anything that he was saying. I think he should be locked up in adult jail but not no more than 15 to 20 years

  • as far as I know the kid has never confessed to committing this crime, and the side of prosecution doesnt not have any solid evidence against him; in my view by deciding wheather to try him as juvenille or as an adult, they violated the basic pressumption of innocence, some judge decided to try him as an adult just because he didnt confessed without thinking that the child may be innocent, afterall I think that the kid will be aquitted

  • @titfortat2 lol im not even american...nice try dousche

  • @iNightm4reZ At the end of the day you live in a country were Bush was voted in twice and it seems Sarah Palin has a real change to become your next leader. hahaha if it was not the fact that my country seems to have its head shoved firmly up your arse I would pity you. But Im too fucking scared.

Now go off and shag you cousin.

  • @matthewlombera shut up he obviously did. he deserves life in prison you dumbshit
