For this video, I chose to look at people who own smart phones and "dumb phones" and how they value them. Topics ranged from daily uses of the phone to making the decision of what type of phone to purchase. I related this idea to Simmel's concept about the metropolitan man vs. the country man and how one does not want to return to a certain form of living and what not. In this case, the smart phone being the metropolis and the dumb phone being the country.

Everyone should use a basic phone and stop buying a new computer every year. Use serviceable old shit til it dies. Kill this retarded industry and the hype behind it. And we need interventions for those hooked into the apple cult. Best phone I ever had was a smiling pull along thing from Fisher Price

I think it's because i don't need all that shit to make a phone call like that first guy said. And because I see people playing with their fucking phone all day like it's eating their brain. They are lost in smart phone love and their personalities are gone. And the data packages for net surfing are an incredible rip off. I can use my computer for that shit. I don't need to be online 24/7 checking my emails every few minutes.
