Homemade Hovercraft

This is from the hovercraft race at Island Lake 2007. Brother Rice's student-built, -designed, and -driven hovercraft is black and orange. It was the first craft that made it through all of its races the first time it was raced. It was driven by Jake Mohan the student leader for the engineering class that built it.

Actually no, those suckers are built with foam core and fiberglass so they float when the engines die. It happened in a later race.

me and my dad built one like that and took a 5 hp lawn mower motor and built a little room with a roll cage( where you control it is what i meant) and took some rubber and foawm put it on the bottom and started going doen the road. then i got bored and fliped it in my yard trying to jump it and it worked but the bottom was to skinny and it flipped!!! they are fun!!!
