@stueyrandall because there is toxic smoke and a car on fire waiting to explode. If I was helping lift that car I'd think myself lucky that I survived that long without blowing up or suffocating. The last thing I would do is start working on a casualty in that danger zone when the emergency services are a minute away with fire extinguishers and trained medics. Why turn one casualty in to 12 casualties?
