DCC sound fitted class 52 Western fitted with SWD sound chip. Heljan D1041 renmbered & renamed as D1067 Western Druid - maroon full yellow ends. Note that any sound distortion is due to poor quality recording equipment and is not present on the chip - the sound from which is one of the best heard yet. Sequence is preheater (but not for 30 mins - you dont want to wait that long to start the engines!), fuel pump, failed start and finally both engines start. Added a couple of run bys so you get the full effect of the Maybach music. Please note that Abbotswood junction is now moving house - so no more videos for a while! However you can follow our progress at http://abbotswoodjunction.webs.com/ and we are due to appear at the Cheltenham show 24th/25th October 2009 - see show web site at http://www.cheltmodrail.org.uk/index.php Hope to see old friends and make new ones there!

  • Hi Mozzcoins

Thanks for comments - and as you say sounds great! Is a doddle as speaker - the standard one supplied with the SWD loksound chip - is just sitting on the chassis over the cardan shafts at one end - no mods required at all, plug and play!

  • Cheers - theres another chip on the way to SWD to be reblown - not sure which to put that in - could be Ranger, Lady, Ambassador, Talisman, Empress or Thunderer!

  • wonderful whizzo vid. please post more. faved and rated.

  • Excellent sound result. Nothing less expected however from the best in the business (IMHO) SWD. I have some 15 sound equipped diesels/steam now and am just about to start on a Heljan Class 52 (after I complete my latest Class 37 with smoke from the diesel exhausts) Where then have you fitted the speaker/s, and what type have you used.

Again, hats off, an excellent result.

    Mike
