Trying out a friend's new Mini XD .45 using C.A.R. System "High" and "Combat High" positions. Nice little weapon!

  • Man I hate this gun. I own one and the damn firing pin keeps breaking. Been twice now, and the little girl only has about 600 rounds through her :\

  • @CharlieJulietEcho :

Quite interesting (and dissapointing for you I bet. This wasn't mine (jst borrowed for the demo) but I work with the owner and he has had NO issues. Hope u get it resolved.

  • OK I am with you on the smaller target idea... But, wouldn't I rather be square to the target and let my armor do it's job of protecting my vitals? I am rather fond of them. I am equally fond of the " large muscles and bones of your(my) "reactionary" hand."I am thinking I may need them later-as in a few seconds into this fight. Am I allowed to move off axis with CAR system? I would rather be moving/getting out of the way/ increasing distance if I am going to shoot to slide lock.

  • @sbd45acp:

Nothing prevents you from having your "vitals" squared off, IF you are wearing body armor. A valid point for those that go in harm's way for a living, and those refinements are tought during my classes. (But who wears body armor when things go bump in the night, when waling the dog, or at the mall?) And yes, getting off the axis and moving while shooting is taught, but is certainly beyond the scope of this particular video clip. THanks, Bryn

  • Enlighten me. Why exactly are we holding the gun this way, exposing really important, unprotected parts of our body, and dumping the mag to slide lock and then standing there?

  • @sbd45acp: Just showbng the CAR System can be used with nicro pistols as well. Actualy, the bladed stance allows for a smaller targer and the side is covered by the large muscles and bones of your "reactionary" hand. No mag change due to no spare mag - check out my M9 video for a CAR System mag change. Thanks.

  • Does scanning for threats with a weapon at slide lock make sense?

  • @CharlieJulietEcho

You are not the only one to mention this. The pin AND the pin bushing (the thing that holds the pin in) have both been giving people trouble with this one. Couple of other (4 IIRC) Springfields were having this same issue.

  • the vest doubles over on the sides right? Therefore giving you even more protection while also giving a smaller target to hit? Correct me if im wrong this stance looks cool.
