Vanderbilt and HEI Hotels: Responsible Investment Now

As students and members of the Vanderbilt Community, we ask that our University condemn the unethical and allegedly illegal practices of HEI Hotels & Resorts. Along with several other schools, Vanderbilt's endowment is heavily invested in HEI. Workers have been unfairly fired, harassed, and intimidated because of their efforts to fight for better working conditions. It is clear that HEI does not share the ethical concerns of our community. If Vanderbilt truly respects the rights of others and has concern for their well-being and dignity, we will take a stand against HEI's unfair labor practices. We should leverage our power as an investor to ensure that HEI's actions represent our university's values.
