DISCLAIMER: This is strictly FAN-MADE. I don't own anything of Narnia or Godspell, nor am I making any sort of profit off this video. Please, nobody sue me!

Okay, now that the disclaimer's out of the way... *throws confetti!* My FIRST REAL MUSIC VIDEO!! YAY!!! *rejoices* I recently got the Godspell soundtrack (WONDERFUL musical) as well as a DVD ripper trial-program, and well...the inspiration hit. Hard.

The song is so beautiful and one of my favorites, and Narnia is very, very special to me; I hope I did them both justice! And as this IS my first music video, any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated! :-) Thank you!

LYRICS:

Where are you going?
Where are you going?
Can you take me with you?
For my hand is cold
And needs warmth
Where are you going?

Far beyond where the horizon lies
Where the horizon lies
And the land sinks into mellow blueness
Oh please, take me with you

Let me skip the road with you
I can dare myself
I can dare myself
I'll put a pebble in my shoe
And watch me walk
I can walk and walk

I shall call the pebble Dare
I shall call the pebble Dare
We will talk, we will talk together
About walking
Dare shall be carried
And when we both have had enough
I will take him from my shoe, singing:
"Meet your new road!"

Then I'll take your hand
Finally glad
That you are here
By my side

  • I'm the composer of the music of this song (Jay Hamburger the lyrics) and I love what you did. Check out the upload on my channel of our 10th anniversary production and you'll see how the song was done in the show -- very different! But, this was lovely. Thank you!

  • Wonderful idea. No clue how I missed this possibility before...Godspell and Narnia are two of my favorite things. Thanks for the great video.

  • I have to agree with peacecanhappen27- C.S. Lewis did indeed write the Narnia books as an instructional tool for Christian children.

I was looking for this song today (Good Friday), and I'm glad I hit upon your interpretation of it. It's a powerful subject and you captured it in this video without focusing too much on the actual 'death at the stone table', but giving that scene its due. Well Done! Definitely sharing this with friends and family.

  • I love both Narnia and Godspell. my School did it this year for our first production and me and my friends are huge Narnia Fans... Cant wait till December when the next Narnia movie comes out!

  • @DarkWolfinc that's interesting, I didn't know that!

  • @peacecanhappen27 You know what's interesting about C.S. Lewis is that at first he was an agnostic (or atheist, don't remember) and to settle his own mind he set out to prove Christians wrong. He tried hard but couldn't do it and eventually became a Christian himself and wrote all kinds of religious books and stories :-)

  • I like your video :-) It's inspired me, I think I'll make a similar one but I have a different (older) version of the song I like better. Very nice!

  • This was lovely - thank you for sharing

  • Awesome job! This actually brought a tear to my eye!

I hope you'll keep making videos like this; God is definitely using you for great things!

  • Simply beautiful work

  • very perceptive lepizzagirl, C.S. Lewis wrote the Chronicles of Narnia as a retelling of parts of the Bible for kids. (I'm serious it says so on the back of my copies all seven of them).
