  • Hi Mission Improv,

Thanks for your comment. Yes, there are certainly computer programs that can aid in improv. I feel there's no substitute for studying harmony by playing chords on the keyboard though. Also, when you're in a school practice room, concert hall, studio or other location, you'll probably have a piano, but no computer access. I encourage students to practice both ways.

  • Thank you, Sue. That was very enlightening. 35 years of relying on my ear is gettin' old (although my ear is really good). I do need to get in the shed and work it out!

  • Great sounding horn. Very fine lesson with loads of substance in a short time! Thanks.

  • Thanks Sue,

     You are 'sweet'

  • Really great stuff and beautiful tone and playing Sue. hope to see you live sometime if you come to Florida.

  • Sue: You are very creative and a fabulous sax player. However Band-in-a Box software can be used to enter your chords and keep your hands in your sax and it is much cheaper than a keyboard. It has all styles of songs derived from the blues all the way to hip hop.We also use Sibelius to enter chords and develop arrangements for the jazz combo. Check us out at missionimprovisation
