@adramatictheme The reason there populations r rising is becuase they r looked after by keepers by shooting the vermin that kill them and by burning the heather to help get rid of heather beetle which eats all the heather and then the grouse piss off and die coz they've got no food. Wise up pal, read some books then talk bull shit.

@chasong we are not the only animals that kill on a full stomach!!! ive had racoons break into bird pens & kill all the birds in the pen maybe kill/eat 1bird & then leave? they just kept kill n pheasants or chickens intill there was none left & like i said more then once they just broke in bite a bird in the neck & moved to the next bird? they were not killing to eat? also "sport men/hunters" license we buy to hunt r used to provide/protect habitat for the animals we hunt & non game species 2!!

I've never had a problem with people who eat what they hunt for. It's the trophy hunters that have always bothered me. I've heard grouse tastes really good so I can't blame folks for going after these birds. Times are getting harder so I expect that more people will hunt for food down the road.
