Peabody 2006

Czerina Patel accepts the George Foster Peabody Award for her work on WNYC's Radio Rookies - the last series of stories she produced for the program. On stage with Czerina are the 2005 Radio Rookies (Cat, Derrick,Vera and Chico) whose stories made up the winning entry, and Associate Producer Miguel Macias.

Czerina dedicated the award to her friend and mentor James (Jim) Carey who died at the end of May this year. Jim was a professor and preeminent scholar of journalism, ethics and the public life.
