Protests to eject Lamu CDF treasurer

Residents of Lamu on Tuesday morning invaded the local Constituency Development Fund office in a attempt to remove a top committee official. The residents who were led by six councillors from the Lamu Town Council accused the CDF treasurer Mohammed Galgalo Bute of involvement in corrupt deals in the implementation of CDF projects. The demonstrators who waved banners and twigs said they had no confidence with the treasure and are asking the area MP Faim Twaha to replace him. The treasurer was not in the office during the demonstration. The peaceful protest brought business in Mpeketoni town to a stand still.
