Can't believe that some anaesthetists have taken the hump and left a negatively worded comment - it was a joke, a skit, a spoof, you numpties...!

This is a satire-bears NO resemblance to reality. Anesthesiologists ( myself included) are responsible for maintaining patients' lives despite the best efforts of surgeons to ( in effect ) kill them! Patients undergoing surgery should appreciate the dedication with which anesthesiologists care for their wellbeing and survival.

This is sort of like being an airline pilot. Basically, after take off and when at cruising altitude (and auto-pilot is engaged) you drink coffee and now and then look at the screen or make a note in your flight log.

@schottilie irrespective of who either one of us is and how we were trained, it's cheap denigrating hyperbole to say that medicine is "one of the least demanding studies intellectually" and a heinous generalization at best. that's all i have to say about it.
