I need help installing ubuntu on my ex5420. Cna you help me out?

put the Ubuntu'cd (latest ver. 8.04) in and boot from it. It starts in live mode. create 2 partitions and it will autoinstall. in 8.04 compiz is already installed.vga intel has drivers in the kernel alredy so you don't need any other action

Don't use Ubuntu 7.10 or 8.04

they're terrible, stick with Feisty fawn (7.04)

is linux more energy eficient on laptops than windows vista? I also have am extensa 5200

Does the new ubunto version come with beryl? Is beryl the same thing as compiz fusion?

My laptop has tow partitions already. Should I just install it in the other drive other than C?

cool!!!, i can't get 3d acceleration, i have the intel 950 gma too, could you tell me how you got 3d acceleration? or give me a copy of your xorg.conf file (if possible) to see what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.
