The Izod Indycar series needs a 500 miler at michigan, pocono and fontana to compliment the Indy 500. It would be a kick ass series then! But even if they did, they would be 400 milers if at all but in a perfect world i would love to see those 4 as 500 milers!!!!!!

i have the uncut version of this race. straight off the satellite dish!! very interesting stuff too. it was the most refreshing thing to sit down and watch an entire race from flag to flag with no fucking commercials...no side by side...no butthole interruptions of any kind.

@zoostation64 i read a couple weeks ago they're looking at bring back 3 tarcks from the 90's........michigan, cleveland and i think road america was the 3rd. there's a new car coming in 2011 or 12 and it's almost a lock that it'll be turbo-charched like these cars were. yippie!!! :)

On the final round of pit stops, Goodyear's car broke the pnuematic jack. It was a hot day, and the air jacks were digging into the asphalt. The car dropped, it got stuck, and it ripped right off. It was a good thing that was the final scheduled stop.

That's one of the reasons they have concrete pit stalls now.

Goodyear went #2-#1 in the two 500's that season.

lol, as far as i can remember... michael andretti always had a wicked fast car... thing is... it always broke or he DNF'd somehow :P
