Wasp Series 3 - Filming Around Newcastle

Ling Valentine (the car leasing superstar) and her WASP tank. Painted bright yellow and

paying homage to the Panzerwagen Mk I, the WASP is Ling's new pet toy. Hearing that Duncan

Bannatyne of BBC Dragons' Den was about to visit her for a new TV programme "How to Win in

the Den", Ling decided to surprise him by meeting him on the Newcastle Quayside in her new

tank. With a big 6-cylinder Rolls Royce petrol engine, the Wasp will fly up to 55mph and the

Browning .30 cal machine gun... the WASP makes cutting through traffic a breeze! Duncan

Bannatyne refused a lift back to Ling's office on the tank, choosing to follow Ling back to

her office in an S-Class Merc.

Bannatyne spent the afternoon in Ling's office with a BBC film crew, analysing all her

figures and showed remorse that he did not invest in the business after Ling refused his

cash in the Dragons' Den, back in 2007. Ling piled up £50,000 in £50 notes on her desk,

pointing out to Duncan Bannatyne that she didn't need his cash. Although Bannatyne spent an

hour arguing over Ling's accounts in disbelief that she would exceed £100,000 profit in

2011, she's just signed the financial year off and exceeded the 2011 profit projections she

declared to the Scottish entrepreneur on TV, which he found so hard to swallow.

Ling leases over 1,000 new cars every year from LINGsCARS.com, and the retail value of the

cars is well over £40 million.
