Dudes..F22 was cancelled.They arent manufacturing any more. It was cancelled because of the piece of crap that it was. All hype. No wonder it was classified.They didnt want people to know what a collosal failure it was after spending 356 million on each plane!!Dont believe me? Go look it up.The SU30 would probably shit all over the F22.

SU30mki is India's answer and response for air dominance in India's region of interest. The SU30mki does give India that capability to exert her dominance vide its range, payload, onboard systems for weapons, navigation and sensors and most obviously professional and well trained pilots and WSOs'. The Raptor is a generation ahead and with a price tag to match and is hardly likely to face IAF SU30s' in combat given the IndoUS relationship.

F22 raptor fleet is grounded due to series of accidents and Govt spending another 16billion on f22 upgrades (100million per bird) this is to much for a bird which cant even prove itself in real war and got beated by EA 18G in exercise...

and by Eurofighter in recent exercise crap :|

@madarchot It is wrong to compare the F-22 with the SU30MK. Both are entirely different aircraft and its is like comparing apples with oranges. The t/w ratio for the su30mk is 0.77 making is more suitable for its ground attack role. I suggest it is also important for INDIA to engage its pilots in military execises more regularly. During the ARAB-ISRAELI war the arabs had better aircraft (latest russian fighters) but the israelis decimated the combined arab airforces. TRAIN ! TRAIN ! Train !

@madarchot The F-22 raptor program was not funded by congress because of its highly classified and sensitive "stealth" technology that made it unsuitable for export. The F-22 is still in service with the U.S airforce and the export ban stands. Currently Lockheed is developing the F-35 lightning that is based on the F-22 raptor airframe, although still falling short of the stealth technology that the Raptor incorporates. India has expressed an interest in the F-35 for its carrier arm.

The SU-30MKI has an excellent radar and long range weapons. However the weapons are carried externally. The aircraft has canards, that add to its radar cross section. The F-22 carries its weapons internally and its nozzles are serrated and rectangular in shape. It makes extensive use of RAM (radar absorbing material) and composites that the SU30 doesnt. Also SU30 engines are very prone to FOD (Foreign Object Damage), resulting in crash already.

Dude...the Su-30MKI also has a massive jammer whch will make any semi-active or active radar missles useless---it is not a ground attack aircraft---it has better dogfight ability than the craptor

@thar777 The su-30 mk has a huge radar cross section, making it extremely vulnerable to low/medium range radars. Also its primarily a ground attack aircraft and is not as nimble as the the french rafale or the f-16 that do a better job in dog fights.

Pleazzzz, Can someone provide a link or something for downloading the entire Line Of Control Series, including the army and navy episodes.... :)

The vid is awesome but visuals are not really crisp....I wanted to know whether the maneuvoring footage of the MKI is of an IAF sukhoi or the Russian display MKI, becoz I have not seen any of the IAF planes doing a few of these moves in any Air shows...(I donno y they do not show the cobra and other such maneuvors in the shows??)
