Thanks as usual , I learn something from you . I have set up arch with kde and gnome3 but recently installed xfce with gdm display manager. I was wonder how to set up the panel and stuff .thanks now if only someone could show how to set up xfce without gdm.

@RomelloSkuggs I used LXDM but it requires a few extra steps to setup. GDM is far easier but takes longer to boot.
