@aeroliner750 One of my friends over there says that the Harley Sportster is very popular... they've been imported there for nearly as long as they have been in america, but I think Japan got its first HD dealership and official japan compliant motorcycle (brighter headlight and different breaks I think) around 1990. From what I read, they have about the same market share there... ~30%. Dont know if they dominate bike events like here in the US though.

Yes, the Harley-Davidson is popular with many riders in Japan.
There is the club of the owner of the Harley-Davidson, too.
I have seen 100 motorcycles of the Harley-Davidson ran in a group.
In Japan, "883" seems to be particularly popular.
However, unfortunately I do not know the Harley-Davidson well.
