now here's the catch. in May 07 "3 weeks after Senator Obama voted to deny funding [...] Gen. R. launched the first major combat operation of the surge." but yet we all have read the fact that the Anbar awakening happened during the summer of 06.
Now RECENTLY McCain has decided to redefine his term "surge" and now states it started in 06 (look up "John McCain Clarifies Meaning of 'Surge'"). anyways, so he's saying that the first major military operation of the surge happened after all this.

He may not be the straight talk express as he claims. But at least he doesn't blow off visiting troops in a German hospital recovering from Iraq. Just because he couldn't take his campaign entourage. Instead, was told he'd have to visit as a Senator instead of a campaigner for Prez.
