The most recent large scale study on saw palmetto (N Engl J Med 2006; 354:557-66) showed no real efficacy for saw palmetto. Saw palmetto always has the potential to do well just because it's inexpensive and has such a large placebo response rate in men with BPH.

I've visited several urologysts and I've been on several anti-biotic and natural treatements and sadly nothing has worked for me. I'm in strong pain right now and I really need help. I had this condition for 6 months. My symptoms were pain/discomfort throughout the groin area, difficulty emptying the bladder, burning during urination and aching pain in the legs.
