A brand new basket from the manufacturer. Drive plates added and mounted vertically on it's standard needle roller bearing. Apple added to show and confirm the direction of gravity. Internal spring washers removed to allow free play in the centre bearing to seen without engine load.

  • @MrJswans

They all do that, i know mine does. I asked it on a forum and the guys who know alot about it told me it's not a problem. Enjoy riding your SV :)

  • @MrJswans I've got a 2003 DL1000 (same motor as SV1000). It chatters and makes a bunch of racket at idle and below 3k RPM. It's done this from day one and now the bike has over 40k miles on it and not a problem out of it. There is a lot of debate about this issue but personally I doubt it's an issue at all.

  • Thanks for the breakdown of the innerworkings and visual description of the V-Strom/SV1000 clutch. Excellent . Apple is a nice touch.

  • so.

any comment on the apple ?

    art or reason ?

  • LOL. just realised it's you that posted the video shearalike. ooppss.

  • there is a guy in the uk who will fix this by modifying either your basket or a new one. his name is shearalike and you can find him on sv portal.
