Hello,
Very good! These new carbon fiber instruments are very promising.
I have written a piece for solo viola, but as all my friends are engineers, not musicians, I've got no one to play it. Would you be interested?
Regards,
Eric

That's pretty cool. I just love the viola. Especially the C string. It's sounds great!

Isn't the point of a viola it's size? Smaller is called a violin!

@theantiredneck I thought it was about the sound?

what size is your viola? do these carbon fiber violas come in diff sizes?

@kjjjzz It is a 16" body - I think it's the only size they make. It's very manageable. Even though I'm tall, I like smaller violas for their playability. This one is pretty easy to play.

It's not a bad sound. I wonder how consistent they are. I'd assume that since they're basically molded they'd be very consistent. Have you played others?

@SCharton1972 The video doesn't really do it justice. The sound from this thing is pretty amazing - very powerful. Perhaps not as sweet as the best wooden instruments, but very very good nonetheless. I have not played others, so I don't know how consistent they are. But I'd guess that they are all very alike due to the materials and method of manufacture. Of course setup, strings, etc. could introduce significant variables.
