Photoshop CS5 Masking Tutorial

Masking, Mask Refinement and Non-Destructive image editing are vital components when compositing with Photoshop CS5. In this tutorial we will be covering a real world composite job where we take an image and composite against a new background. We also work with the Mask Refinemetn tool to make a complex hair selection easy.

I had real trouble with this, a number of elements I have no idea what your talking about for instance just after you select the mask, you select to the brush tool using shortcuts (no cmd mentioned) also when you brush you remove her hair, whereas when I brush I get more of my image back.... so it's doing the opposite.

I think it needs more explaining. I think you might be assuming we know what your doing in a number of areas, when realistically most people who watch these don't have a clue.

Well done Shawn, good video. Amazes me the redundancy of techniques built into PSD. I use the channels a little differently to accomplish vignettes but the tips shown here are a bit cleaner. Keep up the good work!
