As a member or the Fruit Tree Tour crew, Joe explains the importance of Seed Ball making as a part of the hands on learning program that FTT brings to schools every spring. Traveling in a veggie oil-powered caravan, 25-earth educators from Common Vision teach students about sustainable ecology through a day long program. The goal of this annual tour is to develop working relationships with teachers and administrators to integrate sustainability and nutrition into schools' curricula and landscapes. (more) (less)
Shame about the digging. Masanobu Fukuoka explains why digging is detrimental. Also, his method was developed by "not doing" - he was able to get out of his own way (ego), and let Nature take the lead. This made him humble and respectful. If your young people were shown that throwing seed balls is enough - trust Nature to do the rest, then they might prevent the Western mindset of trying to control Nature, which of course is why the planet is in so much trouble today. Thanks.

Before you make a seed ball it is good to feel the power of infinite love running through you. This is the power of nature- the power of now. Eckhart Tolle explains it well. Fukuoka, the man who discovered seed balls was in tune with the infinite force behind all things- hence he was able to watch and understand nature and harmonize his actions with the force.
