I've heard of Snakes on a Plane, but this is ridiculous. I don't know if this was an assistance animal, but the monkey got on the plane with its owner unrestrained. The last thing the flying public needs is animals on the airplane. This is the same airline that kicks people off for wearing tight clothing and using their cell phone to save someone's life.

  • @canyonblue737 ...... That's terrible. What about the safety of the other passengers? Monkeys, and many other animals, can go psycho when under stress, and this often leads to random attacks. Why does the U.S. government jeopardise the safety of the majority of passengers just for the "emotional needs" of one person? It's not right, and the government is leaving itself wide open for law suits from any victims of animal attacks on airplanes. Ahhhh....only in America!!!

  • sadly the fault is not with the airline, but the government. many animals can be considered legal for "emotional support" and with physician documentations all airlines, including southwest can not deny the animal boarding. restraints for the animal are not required so long as it does not physically block an escape path in the aircraft. southwest will NOT carry ANY animals, in the cabin or otherwise unless required by US law, such as in this case.
