@idaman12345 ideas of god are as old as scientific data. i have no idea where you trying to go with this or who your trying to convince what? Almost all people of all cultures and beliefs recognize the chicken or the egg argument or created by life or by non-life argument has been around as long as the written word.

@idaman12345 Are you talking about Bible vows? that is where they originated smarty and people altered them to personal vows which I think are better and more personal. But yes marriage started out as an oath to god and one another of commitment and then goverments started to try to regulate and control and tax ANYTHING like they always do. so I believe if a man and 4 women or 8 men want to make oaths to eachother it has nothing to do with government or state.

@IWantLindseyToWantMe I'm not religous but sorry to say Marriage IS based on the bible and God. Its originations are an oath to GOD and one another of commitment so if your an aetheist you really CANT marry but CAN make an oath to one another and register/file yourself with the state/government as a partnership and reciece a LICENSE to marry or "marriage license" literally. Marraige is already a joke because our view that paperwork filing is more of a marraige then an oath to god and eachother
