n April of 2011, the Montpelier Foundation began the South yard project to build timber frame outlines of the six outbuildings located at the mansion grounds. These six structures consist of three slave quarters, two smokehouses, and a detached kitchen. The construction of these timber frame outlines coincide with archaeological excavation of two of the slave quarters during the 2011 season.
