  • @vincentpol ummmmmm you basically described every type of design job ever created.... theirs hundreds of jobs were you have to start at the "bottom" and work to the top, its not only this job...... you have to start somewhere its called hard work!... its reality with any profession out their, though the job is different the heart you put into it is no different than the next nurse, doctor, hairstylist , fashion designer, lawyer who puts heart into their work

  • i have a dream to become a game developer, how to get there?

  • @TheNetau It depends on the company. Even there, while I do mostly level design, a good half of my job on the project was game design.

  • @ogicabp4u I do have the very best mom ever. She supports all my games, and loves sitting down and playing them with me, even now. :)

  • @ConnectEdCalifornia As an addition to this, be very very careful about the school you pick. The Guildhall was a good choice because every single professor is a game industry veteran. It has a high hire rate. It's good. A friend of mine went to another school and said it was completely and totally worthless. Do your research.

  • @Xxkillax123 Don't wait! When I was in High School I was making Heroes of Might and Magic 3 maps. By the time I was in undergrad I was making Neverwinter Nights mods. Make things now! It's the best way to learn.

  • @GalaxyMods Probably a 3d art program. But you need traditional skills too.

  • @kMC303 Hey! You don't *need* school. That's just the path I took. It has the greatest chance of success, so I did it.

My advice, get an editor and start making games. Do this by using tools like game maker, unreal ed, Skyrim's creation kit, Source SDK, etc. There is tons of info online, like tutorials and such, learn and editor and make something awesome. You will either love it, or hate all the nit picky work. It's not easy, but if you can do it, it's the best job you'll ever hate. :)

  • @Itankndspank Nope. Your degree is not as important as your skills, attitude, and portfolio. You have to show you can do cool things. Build a great portfolio and skill set, and you are golden.

  • @iiiSubarudemon1999 Find an editor and make levels. Make board games. Make indie games. Do this by using tools like game maker, unreal ed, Skyrim's creation kit, Source SDK, etc.

The best way to learn to make games is to make them.
