This is a Starry Night Backyard simulation of how the lunar eclipse would look from the moon. The Earth appears much larger than the Sun due to its proximity to the Moon. This runs as 3000x normal speed.

  • thats kool. how often does that happen each year?

  • The next full lunar eclipse will be in 2010. We will see at least one partial eclipse from parts of North America sooner than that.

  • @implaxis ...and the next one? xD

  • it shud happen this year at Dec 31 2009. or August 06 2009 :/ damn i wanna see that again. looked from NASA's website that it might come this year 4 times or something.

  • it happens evey 4 years or so

  • ..just you and me xo

  • nice 3d effect and not to negate your video it was nice but Being on the moon and viewing an earth-solar eclipse would be as nearly impressive as it is on earth. Although the shadow would cover the entire moon.

  • at least we know how it`s happen
