A forum was held on the topic of King Edward Avenue in May 2007. It was hosted by the Lowertown Community Association and King Edward Avenue Task Force. The avenue is the disgrace of the national capital and needs to be addressed. Ground zero of this ghetto is King Edward and Murray.
The presentation can be obtained from the King Edward Avenue Task Force. The original quality was much better.

An east-end bridge is long overdue, but finding a place to put it is the hard part. The bridge would have to link to Ottawa's and Gatineau's transportation systems, without destroying existing neighbourhoods and property. Even if that were feasible, people in the east don't want trucks roaring through their neighbourhoods any more than residents of Lowertown do.
