Guy hanging on hooks - Extreme Thaipusam

One of the most colorful religious festivals, the hinduist Thaipusam at the Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Thaipusam (Tamil: தைப்பூசம்) is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (Jan/Feb). Pusam refers to a star that is at its highest point during the festival. The festival commemorates both the birthday of Lord Murugan (also Subramaniam), the youngest son of Shiva and Parvati, and the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a vel (lance) so he could vanquish the evil demon Soorapadman.

thatz bloody nonsense...this is a very religious festival..as devotees go through months of preparations, fasting, abstrain from any physical contacts from the opposite sex,and also a vegetarian diet. through all this the devotee will then attain a state of trance because of his/her pureness. this festival is not done during the azan time, it starts from as early as 12AM and continues throughout the day. dont accuse of such things. i am a hindu and i know what goes on. It is a beautiful festival

Remember Kannappanayanar gave his eye ti Lord Siva stated in the ancient Puranam. Every one has their own way of devotion and ridding of Sin/ Karmas. If he or she is happy in doing this, who are we to object. In the world of relegion this exist. Those who carry heavy cross, or those stone themselves or beat with spikes or those who wear nail bed shoes, it is their own faith and importantly their belief.
