  • This is an old vid, I guess I should update some things as I've changed quite a bit. I'm now running Android 3.2 on it and I have it installed with only the screen visible in my dash. First off the DS7 is always powered up and I'm using the OBD port on my car to power it because it keeps power for an hour after the car shuts off so the DS7 is always fully charged.

  • where did u get this from?

What kind of radio is it?

  • @temerk10 It is a Dell Streak 7 that I have setup to be mounted in the car at all times, and it is for sale.

  • how did u customize the android kernel ? any tools worked?

    does Android IVI available online?

  • Just bought a viewpad 7 for a carputer, hoping to hide it all in my double din socket in the dash. Just wondering how to manage the power as the car is often left for a week or so sat in the garage. I don't really want to be sitting through 30s boot up times so want to get it in sleep or hibernate or whatever is the android equivalent. Can you put yours in hibernate and running off the car battery? Ever had any problems with it?

  • nice to see someone else with a dell streak 7 car install, i had an issue with tasker using external power as a trigger on mine though since during cranking all the noise would cause it too cycle on and off too fast and get confused. also when the battery died i had to power it on manually

  • Can you tell me a bit more about how you got Tasker setup to do this? I want to mount my Galaxy-tab in my car.

    Thanks!

  • Cyanogenmod.

  • what about this setup?
