I love Low, and thought they were pretty good, but they played a far better set at the Scala in King's Cross around 2004, I think. They even took requests from the audience and seemed a lot happier. Alan was obviously upset about something, but if he'd mashed someone in the head with his guitar, would that have made him feel better? I love this band, but his actions are impossible to condone or understand.
I missed all of this as I was singing along to the beaten up piano in the secret garden... If only you could've got a hold of it You could've gotten a pretty good guitar for a festival souvenir... I saw most of Low, but not that part. It was all over the festival the next day...
true was a a totally amazing set and possibly highlight of the festival! As for the guitar throwing, theres rocknroll and theres total disregard for the audience. It landed a few metres from me and nearly smashed some woman in the head, and could seriously have hurt her considering the speed and swing he threw it with. And i don't think alan got it back, was pretty busted up lol
I saw them at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh on the "Trust" tour and that was going to be hard to top...I'm in two minds how to look at the guitar throwing: was it an act of rock'n'roll abandon- following on from his Hendrix-esque string-biting performance (therefore cool, if potentially disasterous,) or a very stupid and dangerous temper tantrum (not cool!). I wouldn't like to be hit in the face by a Les Paul.. Still, what a great band!
What an amazing performance of this song. If anyone has the destructive finale of this gig, please post it.

Has he apologised?

It was a temper tantrum.

Never saw the set but heard about the guitar incident from Steven Adams playing in The Local later that night - wonder if he got it back? :-)

I agree it was the most intense (and beautiful-sounding) Low set I've seen. Did anyone get footage of the guitar-throwing finale?
