  • I'm happy that CSPAN posts on youtube.... wish they could post everything new.

  • Mike Honda is right, public education cannot be responsible for the lack of engineers.

Public education, at least in large part, has to do with teaching social norms, not engineering techniques.

A decrease in engineers has to do with changes in technology. Competition in technology is tremendous, and companies "move out" when they really just went out of business.

Mattel incorporated was an American company i electronics, but they "moved away" on 2002 (in other words, weren't making $).

  • Mike Honda used to be a round eye caucasian till he moved to CA; Then smoked himself into the gelatinous tub of socialistic slant eyed tub of shit you see today.

  • Mike Honda only odes what Nancy Pelosi tells him to do. Mike is a good little dog.

  • power is knowledge and one word implies SO MUCH KNOWLEDGE U WOULD BE ignorant not to want to know the hypocracy behind it...

    HEMP!!!!

  • Honda is a typical government hack and statist. He wants "comprehensive" imigration reform-code for amnesty. Someone needs to give him some coffee- he says a lot of nothing and is half asleep.

  • Oh yeah! They make lots of mula! :)

In fact, I am predicting a Apple Inc. as a future threat to competitors.

  • On your Wikipedia search did you notice that Apple has 29 Billion dollars of cash in the bank?

  • We should have expected that response to come from someone like you. :P

6.9 million sold, true. However, just a simple encyclopedia like Wikipedia (free, mind you) would also tell you that 6.9 million were sold AFTER a price reduction.

Another good example of this would be with the Playstation 3 by Sony. It has sold about 22 million units thus far, but ONLY after a price reduction.

I have no facts? Well, what I just gave you were facts. Take it or leave it. :P

  • You're not even making sense. Sony is a Japanese company. They have offices in the U.S. like every large company. The discussion was regarding technology development.

Apple shipped 6.9 million phones in Q3 2009.

You have no facts, you don't even have good guesses.

    That's my last response.

  • Right, Sony is American based. However, there is a Sony of America headquarters, so they are technically an American company.

It's just like Toyota, no? Toyota did come from Japan, but there is a Toyota of America headquarters.

They sold millions of iPhones within a couple months, but that was just with the cheap 3G versions. iPhones with more memory did not sell well at all. I would be surprised if they still have the higher memory devices.

  • Sony is based in Japan, not Silicon Valley.

Apple brings new products to market every few months and maintains its profits (its a public company, just take a look at last quarters financials). Apple released the iphone in June of 2007 and has sold over 17 million.
