@addeex1 Because this is recorded in 1930s...... so it is abridged...

@addeex1 In Arrau’s performance of the Rhapsodie espagnole, the recording captures the pianist’s multi–dimensional timbre with remarkable fidelity for the period. Small cuts were necessary to prevent the work from spilling over to three sides.

Arrau at 17 years old shared a program with the Australian soprano, Dame Nellie Melba, who “objected that I had too many bows after Liszt’s Spanish Rhapsody. She went up to me backstage and said, ‘That’s enough, young man.’”
Liszt will never be twisting in his grave while listening to Arrau, that's for sure!!!

the fuck with this..
i'm so disgusted to see people slaughtering music..
Liszt must be twisting in his grave..
Arrau cut 4 minutes of this marvelous work.. Why? What in the world maked him think he's gonna be brilliant with this sick slaughtered interpretation? Or maybe he wanted to point out the hate to some listeners..

@yekhaty - Stupenda e incredibile l'incisione della Rapsodie Espagnole di Liszt eseguita da Claudio Arrau. In che anno è stata registrata questa interpretazione ? Un cordiale saluto ...

Oh really? Can you tell me why he skips a whole part at exact 3:05?? Obvious you don't know this piece, I've played it so I got confused when he skipped a part there...
