This is Stage 8, Lesson 5 of Justin's Beginner Guitar Course.

This video gives you an exercise to help you develop your alternate picking using the minor pentatonic scale.

The Justinguitar Beginners Guitar Course, a series of over 100 lessons on guitar for beginners. Text support is on the web site and also in a proper old skool paper book which can be ordered from the web site of your local music store :)

Taught by Justin Sandercoe.

Full support at the justinguitar web site where you will find hundreds of lessons on a wide range of subjects, and all the scales and chords that you will ever need! There is a great forum too to get help, no matter what the problem.

And it is all totally free, no bull. No sample lessons, no memberships, no free ebook. Just tons of great lessons :)

To get help with this lesson (and for further info and tabs), find the Lesson ID in the video title (like ST-667 or whatever) and then look it up on the Lesson Index page of justinguitar.com

Have fun :)

  • Olá (:

  • theres a problem with theh alternate picking, its that the dynamic of the up stroke is weaker than the down stroke.

You can try to inclinate the pick, which is more difficult, but better sound

  • @JustinSandercoe No...it was funny...trues me, mate! :D)

  • haha 1:59 epic

  • awesome video, it really helped me understand the whole thing about picking. i am playing for about three years now, but i'm not pretty good with learning because i don't have an actual guitar teacher. at first it was hard to even find lessons, because there is so much of them on the internet, but then one day my friend showed me your videos, he's also learning from them. i wanted to say thanks about your lessons, they really made the learning easier for me! :)

    greetings from Latvia, Sintija :)

  • also russian mindcontrol, that was forced.

  • this is a really good thing you are doing, if you aren't already giving private lessons, you should
