This is a kitchen floor with a unique twist, it's Solid Wood 3/8" Bamboo with a Chestnut Finish surrounding 12x12 glazed cream colored porcelain tiles.

IMPORTANT TIPS:
If you use 3/8" thick Wood, Use 3/8" thick tile. Glue everything and nail the wood down too I used Ebony Putty mixed with a couple dropsof Red Oak stain (No Grout on mine)
Make sure you can stain the trim to match the wood (Like I did)
Measure your square footage and go 1/2 tile and 1/2 wood if you use 12x12 tile and 3" wide wood.
*** EMPTY THE FRIDGE BEFORE ROLLING IT OVER THE FLOOR!!!! ***
(I had to replace 4 tiles and 3 strips of wood flooring)

  • @faras5426 I used 2" brad nails to keep the wood from buckling and then puttied the holes with ebony wood putty. You can't see it but I did use tile that was thinner than the wood and you can feel it if you walk in there barefooted.

Hey, I was trying something different and you can learn from my mistakes...

Oh yeah, the adhesive was Mastic but I suggest you first coat the floor with henry's adhesive primer.

  • What keeps the wood from buckling up. What is the adhesive to keep the wood accents stuck to the floor?
