It's so great to see the ease with which she set him straight each and every time he tried to launch into his sick 'style' of interviewing people. And how she did it with a smile on her face.

@sillyboydeux You said it!

Mike Wallace, Intrepid Yellow Journalist. Maria Callas, always on her toes, and she never studied ballet!

Yes, callas didnt look depressive. She knew, regardless of her situations, that she became the Legend of Legends. She knew who she was, & she knew she had become immortal. Even with her situations & problems, battles & detractors, losing her voice or not.. She knew she was forever & that by far outweighs anything negative in her life. Yes, she was saddened greatly, yes she suffered for all that happened in the end. Yet, her artistry her seemingly divine art that is what protected her in the end.

It's so sad. She really looks and sound depressive. She's like...dead inside.
Trying to convince hearself.
Thanks for this super rare document.
she has a girlish quality in this interview, different than others. Still, not at her best.
Great diva, all those nuances.
Many thanks to having been able to see this! Keep it up. For Callas' sake.

I actually didn't think she looked "depressive." On the contrary, I see much of Maria's spark yet. Wallace was so sure of himself when he said "...you walked out on Rome..." and Maria set him straight, as she did on every other point, too. Thanks for this, the quality is low, as you say, but the value is immense.
