This is pretty cool, I had this idea a few years ago but never really pursued it. This program will let you sync High quality uncompressed wav or aac files to 16mm film. I haven't taken time to modify my projector yet but this mock up shows the basic principle of how it works. I ripped a wav file from a Men In Black Dvd to later sync with my 16mm print. Kinda like DTS for your 16mm. The pickup coil hooks to the mic in on your mac & for high quality sound out you can use a usb external sound card. Check out this website for all of the information & how this idea came to be & how to build it yourself!

An Idea I have thought of but haven't tried is using a professional CD or Mp3 player that has a jog dial & connecting the jog dial to the projector electronically then you could run in forward or reverse & if done right it should stay synced perfectly.

I didn't make it, But you can contact the person who did through the link in the description. I've been busy with other projects so I haven't tried setting it up on my projector yet, But I think it would be nice to have a optical reader that would count the sprockets, Then you could lock the sound to the exact frame. You could have a series of three black dots on the sprocket side that would tell the software to start sync.

I do hope you market this program in the future. I have a silent film I made but I had to cut around, or add titles. Because I can't afford a crystal sync camera and nagra. And a program like this I wouldn't have to worry about spending $4000 on a nagra. Good luck, i'll be your first sale.
