Being an integral part of PortaSwitch, PortaSIP is a class 4 and 5 SIP softswitch that allows you to provide a wide array of Internet telephony services.

As the core element of a next-generation network infrastructure, PortaSIP directly manages voice, video, data and messaging communications on your network.

You can use PortaSip to provide services such as:
•Wholesale traffic exchange using PortaSIPs excellent call routing capabilities.
•Residential telephony services to replace land lines with VoIP lines (also commonly referred to as Vonage-type service).
•Hosted IP PBX or IP Centrex for small and medium-sized businesses and enterprise customers using PortaSIPs IP Centrex features.
•Instant messaging, presence, voice and video from a client on the users personal computer (similar to Skype).

In some countries, where conventional VoIP is disabled by the state telecom operators firewall, PortaSIP can use SIP over TCP or SIP over SSL to ensure that customers can send and receive calls.
