The Captured Bird's cinematographer Karim Hussain (La belle bête, Territories, Hobo With a Shotgun) sits down with director Jovanka Vuckovic to discuss the storyboards and the shooting style for the film.

He offers some great suggestions for first-time filmmakers to achieve big-budget looks with limited resources. The relationship between the director and the director of photography is a crucial part of the filmmaking process, and this video shows how the initial stages of that relationship unfold.

  • this was fantastic. More like this.

  • This is a great nuts-and-bolts look at the mundane technical realities of shooting a film and the kind of discussions that go on all the time.

Thanks to Jovanka for giving us an insight into this process.
